Behind the Booth: How We Build Acoustic Comfort

A peek into our design and engineering process. From material choices to sound tests, learn how we turn an idea into a perfectly quiet Poddie.

Acoustic comfort is a must in modern workspace.

Employees attempting to concentrate on independent tasks are easily distracted by surrounding speech. In addition, many communications require speech privacy, which is difficult to achieve in an occupied office without moving to a place providing enhanced sound isolation to the surrounding spaces.

Studies show that around 70% of employees are unhappy with the noise levels in their workplace.

Distractions caused by noise can significantly impact productivity—once focus is lost, it may take up to 23 minutes to fully regain it.

Don’t let noise become the silent productivity killer in your work place.

If you're looking for a solution that offers both privacy and outstanding noise reduction—without breaking the bank—Poddie is the smart choice. Our booths combine top-tier acoustic performance with sleek design and affordability, making them ideal for any modern workspace. Whether you're outfitting an open-plan office, creating private meeting spaces, or simply aiming to improve productivity, we're here to help.

How do we achieve good soundproofing in Poddie booths?

  • Heavy & sturdy construction

High density MDF board for walls in combination with thick and dense acoustic PET felt.

  • 4-Seal Door Technology

Our Poddie booths feature a 4-seal door, ensuring a tight closure for superior sound insulation without relying on magnetic latches. This airtight designeffectively minimizes noise, providing an optimal environment for focused work.

  • Advanced Ventilation

The innovative ventilation system channels air into the booth through the ceiling, flows around the user, and is exhausted through the floor. This continuous airflowensures comfort without compromising soundproofing, making our booths ideal for long workdays.

When evaluating phone booths for speech privacy and noise reduction, it’s crucial to understand dB values—they tell you how effective a booth is at reducing ambient noise.

Why ISO 23351-1:2020 Certification Matters ISO 23351-1:2020 is the gold standard for measuring speech level reduction in phone booth. This international standard ensures that dB values for phone booths are tested in the same conditions in labs all across the world.

When comparing results of phone booths of different providers only ISO 23351-1:2020 ensures that making comparisons is meaningful.

The main indicator used in this standard is DS,A – the direct speech attenuation, measured in decibels (dB). It reflects how much the speech level is reduced by the pod or booth.

Noise Reduction Classes According to ISO 23351-1:2020
